Mr. Obama, “Why can’t we label Pakistan a Terrorist State”?

The horror of the Mumbai terror attacks still sinks within the mind of people in India and the cry of the victims still resound in our ears. The Taj is now termed as the testimony to the terrorist brutality and Indian people stands united to seek an explanation from the US and the Indian Government. The question that is set in the mind set of people is – “Should the Indian Government use their diplomatic power tools to pressurize the US government and the global communities to label Pakistan as a terrorist state?”

President Barrack Obama heralded the defining partnership between US and India during his visit to the largest democracy of the world.

The magnificence of the ceremony was kicked off heavily on diplomacy. Obama met the Prime Minister privately and then both the leaders took the questions from the press. Obama spoke to press about counter terrorism, climate change, economic growth, regional security, employment etc. Obama also promised to the press that he will reinvigorate the midcourse corrections with his domestic agenda with the face of American Congress.

Mr. Obama believes that Pakistan based extremists are like a cancer disease with a potential to engulf the entire country within seconds. He confronted his support for Pakistan and his speech was an added advantage for the media because he spoke in Mumbai where the memories of a terror attack in 2008 was very fresh that killed 166 in the city. Obama declared the US is not at all acting as a middle man between the India and Pakistan.

Obama also assured that he will try to recalibrate his presidency across the globe from what happened in the past week’s elections in US. “It seems that people of America is willing to have a change too soon”.

“The people are very frustrated about the economy which resulted a losing control of one of the chambers in congress”, he added. He also said that the mid course corrections will be the matter of being me as a discussion in the Republican Party. It seems from the words of Obama that he reflected the new political reality. He said that the US government will compromise on the extending tax cuts not only for middle and lower class but also for the rich people at least temporarily and promised to bring down the federal deficit as soon as possible.

Obama was very sure that he will make his discussions very casual on the expressions of his visit to India. It proved a good spirited attempt by the President and his wife to dance with the school children and also celebrated Diwali with them. A boy came to him from the same school and uttered in his ears, ” Sir, I am feeling very proud”. Obama looked at the boy and told him, “These words should have been said by me rather.” Later Obama discussed with them about their Science projects.

The main attraction of his visit was his speech at the St. Xavier’s College. That was the center piece of the day for the people of India. Obama used his town hall format to held a discussion with the students offering advice to them where he held room for only six questions for them. The best question which I personally liked was :

“Why is Pakistan always so important an ally to America, so far as America has never called it a terrorist state?”

The murmurs from the audience was heard. Obama smiled and looked towards the student and said, “I knew it was coming.”

Obama asked then, “Why do you think Muslim dominated Pakistan and Hindu majority in India gone to war?” Indian officials has always accused Pakistan Intelligence that they have done not enough to crack down on the Pakistan based extremists which were actually responsible for the attack at the Taj. Pakistan still encircles the ties between India and America as an effort by its old rival Afghanistan.

To his beloved audience, he said, The Pakistan Intelligence is well aware of the dangerous elements that hide and operate within the borders. We should not forget that Pakistan like India has its own strategic importance, he added.

” I assure each and every people of India that we will talk with the Pakistani Government to eradicate the extremism which is considered as a cancer which can engulf the entire nation.” Still you need to talk Mr Obama? Its high time take some actions. We have been talking since ages.

I really don’t understand till when Obama will be encouraging the peach talks which shows no results. He was being an optimist when he said that India and Pakistan have to arrive at a conclusion with their own understandings. Obama was actually stumped with the question asked by the little girl and as usual he blustered his way through.

We will be waiting for your answer Mr. Obama. Do you really feel that Obama’s visit to India will help India with its economy and harmony?

Obama aglow White House with Diwali Celebration

Mr. President Barrack Obama on Wednesday lit a ceremonial Diwali lamp at the White House to mark a victory of light over darkness. It was a complete showcase by America’s multi-cuisine affection to show the gesture to the Indians worldwide. We saw the similar gesture by Bush in 2003 but Obama became the first President who personally graced the ceremony. It was a brief affair that that began with an incongruous performances by a capella group of Hindu Community, Penn Masala and ended with a traditional Sanskrit invocation by the priest from the local Shiv and Vishnu temple.

I was just listening Obama’s speech on the news channel where he added that “On this Saturday all the Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, Buddhists in America and all around the world will celebrate the holiday by lighting of Diyas and candles to mark the victory of light over darkness.” He commented that it is our foremost duty to reach out to those people who are in need of fortune, its a time of rejoicing, a time of reflection. It is our duty that we renew our commitment to make world a better place to live in.

With this celebration, Obama also signed an executive order that will re-establish President’s advisory committee and will take initiative on White House regarding Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. The US president who is a composite of American, Asia-Pacific and African culture brought together an unusual coalition in the east room of White House of Asian Americans, Indian-Americans as well as Pacific Islanders. These three groups work as a successful minorities but seldom work together.

The east room celebration was lasted for half an hour and the event was attended by the mixed group of Asians, Americans and Indians. India’s commerce minister Anand Sharma and Ambassador Meera Shankar also attended the event.

The White House was beautifully decorated from inside in a very simple way. A box of Indian Mithai or sweets was placed on 150 chairs in the East room. Obama after remarking on Asian-American initiative lit a single lamp from a candle. The priest from the local temple kept his chanting very short in the form of “Asatoma Sadgamaya” from the Upanishads which means lead us from the unreal to real, from darkness to light, from death to liberation.

Obama after lighting the diya, wished everyone a very happy diwali and Saal Mubarak as the priest ended his chanting with “Om Shanti Shanti”. He returned the priest’s Namaste and then headed towards his meetings regarding business of war.

One of the journalist present there stood up and said, “Thank you dear President for celebrating the Diwali ceremony”. Obama shot back with ” Oh Yes!! how about that?”. The Journalist smiled. Check out the video of the whole event below:

“I wish Obama should have done something to win the Nobel Prize”

I am sure most of you must be looking at me with hatred eyes but trust me this statement is not commented by me. It is commented by the one of the socialist leader of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez. I am sure most of you are not aware of this name, like I was not until and unless I read his article in one of the US daily blogs. He is not at all satisfied with the decision of Obama winning the Noble prize. As per him, Obama had done nothing beyond wishful that he had been awarded with such a respectful award and that also for Peace.

I wonder the news that Chicago would not host the 2016 Olympics was less shocking for the people of United States than the news that came last week of Obama winning such a prestigious award which led people into utter rage and disappointment. People have mixed feelings for Obama’s imperialist criticism and politics which they think might be possible reasons behind Obama’s victory. Now the questions is “What has Obama done to win the Nobel Prize?”

I personally dont want to comment on what Obama has done and what he has not to win the Nobel Prize. The point is if he has been awarded with such a respectful award, I am sure he has done something grateful for the people of United States, for the people of this world. I know the jury has awarded him mainly because of a fact that he has a hope for a nuclear arm-free world but we should not forget that it was Obama who is responsible for prevailing his battalions in Afghanistan & Iraq. Moreover, it was Obama’s decision to install a new military base in Columbia which never worked in the favor of United States.

Someone commented on his blog (I will not disclose the name, but he is very close to Obama): “For the first time we have witnessed an award with the nominee who has done nothing to deserve it. It was an reward that was forcefully handed over to the person for a wish that is a lot far from becoming a reality.”

Giving Obama a Nobel award was like giving a Cricket captain a prize for simply saying that he will win all the matches for his team, no matter he wins or not. Check out the speech of Obama after he won the Nobel Prize:
