Why Controversies Are Jealous Of Shahrukh Khan?

In an industry like Bollywood, it is difficult for an actor to escape from the pangs of controversies. And a superstar like Shah Rukh Khan is no exception. Although the magnanimity of his controversies do not include killing people or being arrested (read, Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt), the issues he has been involved in have stirred up the entire nation.

The famous “Khan” rivalry between Shah Rukh and Salmanbegan after the former passed wrong remarks about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party in 2008. Ever since, the so-called ‘brothers’ of Bollywood have never faced each other in public dos, nor have they attempted to get things right between them. In fact, both of them continue to dig at each other, giving us enough news to gossip about!

Another friend-turned-foe of the Baadshah of Bollywood is Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan. Things went sour between the two when Aamir mentioned in his blog that his dog named Shah Rukh was licking at his feet and he was feeding it biscuits ‘every now and then’.

SRK invited the wrath of political party Shiv Sena when he expressed his desire to see Pakistani players in the cricket series IPL Season III. The idea was criticized for being biased towards people of his religion Islam. The controversy was so stirred up that the political party threatened to stop his film ‘My Name is Khan’ from releasing.

The superstar has been detained at international airports twice. He was earlier detained in New Jersey in August 2009 because of his surname ‘Khan’. Later, everyone at the airport understood that ‘his name is Khan, and he is not a terrorist.’ More recently, he was detained at New York airport along with Nita Ambani, but was given clearance much later than industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s wife.

Despite the beautiful pairing of SRK with actresses like Kajol, Madhuri, Rani and Preity, he had never been linked with any of them. But recently, SRK and co-star Priyanka Chopra were rumored to have been involved in an alleged affair, and Gauri Khan, the First Lady of Bollywood, surely didn’t accept this well. What followed was a series of sour remarks on PC from filmmaker Karan Johar and loss of work for her. Gauri avoided her at many social gatherings, and so did SRK!

The most recent brawl involving SRK is the incident at Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium during IPL V. The actor has been banned from attending the matches in that stadium for the next five years after he allegedly misbehaved with MCA officials.

King Khan and controversies have a long way to go, and we will eagerly wait for the next gossip to keep us going!

Can Parineeti Chopra Rise To Fame With Her Bold Yet Bubbly Attitude?

While the world is panning Ishaqzaade release in May, Actor Parineeti Chopra seems to have already gained a solid fan base. Better recognized as Priyanka Chopra’s cousin, with her debut in last year’s Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl, this 23 year-old has already bagged 9 awards with her first performance.

We all know, blockbuster hits create movie stars. Big films with action and challenging roles turn actors into celebrities and nobodies into household names. And films don’t come much bigger than the upcoming Ishaqzaade produced by Yash Raj Films. Though the director seldom gets credit for creating the movie stars. But Yash Raj Films has also launched the much decorated Anushka Sharma in 2008, in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

So, if you want to make it big in the industry you definitely want to start with a Yash Raj Films Project.

Combining a not so large start cast, a new launching director with a blockbuster profile; the film has the juice to make careers. But the question is-Who stands to gain the most from the project?

Ishaqzaade’s trailer does a great job at showing just enough to get you interested while also being extremely intense. The movie would be a pretty easy sell because at this point Parineeti Chopra’s name is going to be what draws people in.

It does look a lot like many of the big budget films that are out there these days but it has an interesting premise and a fresh star cast. So will this be just another failed film like so many others or will this be one of the rare instances where a big budget and new star cast will be worth seeing?

But our leading lady Parineeti continues to be impressive since Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl. She seems to stand out unforgettably among a cast of new characters and looks immersed in a role of gritty realism. The trailers, reveal a bold and upbeat Parineeti, a performance that most of us are eagerly looking forward to.

While there are still not enough good roles for women out there, particularly in mainstream Bollywood, This movie seems to challenge that very notion. If she manages to deliver a head-turning performance, she will outdo her cousin Priyanka Chopra, who took much longer to get noticed. And, if she does end up famous, she likely won’t be complaining.

So what do you think? Can she rise to fame with her bold yet bubbly attitude? Please leave a comment below :)
